It was recently reported that Russia has lost most, if not all, of its territorial gains in Ukraine for the year 2026. Several reasons have been given for this phenomena
These would include Ukrainian development of its own ballistic missiles. It would also include superior intelligence and strategic planning of Ukraine over Russia. But primarily it has to do with the inability of Russia to continue to supply its troops in Ukraine.
Ukraine has come through drones and missiles, drastically reduced The ability of rush to logistically supply its troops. Ukraine has hit Russian refineries; Ukraine has hit Russian training centers; Ukraine has hit Russian logistical sinners;
All of these have had the effect of preventing the Russian government from providing adequate support for its troops.
Radio, intercepts of communications by Russian soldiers indicate that the Russian soldiers are out of nearly everything.
This would include food.; This would include ammunition., This would include the basic necessities for continuing to fight.
We are now entering into the second phase of this war
The first phase involved, Russia consistently gaining new ground from Ukraine. As this phase progress, the rate of gain became slower and slower. The second phase is where Ukraine begins, regaining the ground taken by Russia, so that the net result is that no new ground is being taken.
The third phase will be when Ukraine begins to remove Russian troops from its territories. We are not at that phase, yet. But it is coming.
The Russian government knows that the war is in the second phase. That is why they are attempting to make the turnover of Donbas a key negotiating point to entertain peace talks.
