Defenses against Russian drones, Ukraine has developed its own

RUSSIAN drones have been a problem. Patriot missiles are clearly not the answer. So Ukraine has been working on their own solution. Interceptor drones.

Ukrainska Bavovna , a defense contractor, has successfully tested its “Last Shadow T200” interceptor drone. In the test flights, the drone achieved a range of 122 kilometers (76 miles) which is more than adequate for an interceptor drone.

This distance was well beyond the originally anticipated 70 kilometers (43 miles). The T200 is specifically designed to defend against Russian Shahed, Geran, Gerbera, and Molniya drones. These are the most common drones used by Russia. The T200 passed its test flights with flying colors. It has top speed of 300 km/h allowing it to counter Russia’s fastest drones. Its ceiling for operations is some 5 kilometers.

The T200 includes anti-spoofing technology to counter Russian electronic warfare systems like “Shtora” . The T200 is badly needed. Russia has resorted primarily to drones and guided bombs.

If Ukraine can develop a cheap defense to Russian drones, Russia lacks the innovative abilities and resources to counter the technological advancements.

With this interceptor drone and Russia’s home produced FP-7 ballistic missiles, the tenor of the war could change dramatically in a short period. Putin apparently is ignoring the new developments and technology on the horizon when setting his negotiating strategy.

Putin assumes the technology in this war will be static. And it hasn’t. And Putin has been on the losing end of the technology race.
