The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Katsina Sub-Region and Imcomtel Engineering Limited have conducted a joint inspection of the Katsina 330/132/33 Kilo Volt (KV )Transmission Substation Project.
The inspection conducted by TCN and Imcomtel was carried out ahead of the next major installation phase at the substation.
The management of the company in a statement in Abuja on Saturday said that the inspection, which took place on Sept. 24, was led by Mr Usman Idris, Assistant General Manager Transmission, Katsina Sub-Region.
It said that Idris also received the Imcomtel delegation headed by Mr Emmanuel Okafor.
”The team inspected various sections of the substation, including ongoing civil works, equipment locations and supporting infrastructure, to ascertain readiness for the next phase of the project.
“A major highlight was the assessment of two 100-megavolt-ampere (MVA) power transformers delivered to the site on July 9, along with their designated plinths.
”The transformers are expected to substantially boost transmission capacity across Katsina and the broader North-West region,”it said.
The company said that the team also evaluated four newly delivered state-of-the-art control rooms to verify their readiness to house critical protection, monitoring and control systems.
It said that After the inspection,, TCN and Imcomtel aligned on final technical requirements and site preparations to ensure seamless coordination as the project moves closer to completion.
The company listed the inspection team to include the Principal Manager TCN), Mustapha Idowu, and Heads of Technical Departments.
