Platform Petroleum Expects PIA to Transform Nigeria’s Oil Sector

John Anim, managing director of Platform Petroleum Limited, highlighted this improvement during a panel on ‘Investment Opportunities in Nigeria’ at the Invest in Africa Energy 2024 conference in Paris, France.

He said that security challenges in the Niger Delta have significantly lessened. Anim attributed previous security issues to the exclusion of host communities from the benefits of oil and gas activities.

This shift results from the positive impacts seen in communities where the Host Community Development Trust has been implemented. Including host communities has helped minimize environmental impacts and ensure a fairer distribution of resources, Anim explained.

He emphasized that the cooperation between communities and operators demonstrates the enhanced investment climate in Nigeria.

Anim praised the current administration’s efforts to improve the ease of doing business, creating a more investor-friendly environment.

He mentioned that this collaboration ensures seamless operations and is essential for attracting more investments.

Anim also called for greater industry collaboration, which he views as vital for success in the energy sector.

He stated that Platform Petroleum Limited is well-positioned to attract foreign partners, secure funding, develop their assets, and meet the energy needs of Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.

Platform Petroleum Limited, a Nigerian oil and gas company, is dedicated to sustainable development and the inclusive growth of host communities. Through strategic partnerships and innovative practices, the company aims to significantly contribute to meeting the energy demands of Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.
