Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission, LASERC has established dedicated Electricity Complaints Resolution Panels to enhance electricity consumer protection and provide a structured mechanism for resolving disputes between consumers and electricity service providers across Lagos State.
This intervention underscores the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that electricity consumers have direct access to prompt fair, transparent, and impartial dispute resolution processes, while building market confidence and strengthening operational accountability across the state’s power sector.
The panels are scheduled to commence their inaugural hearings on Wednesday, November 4, and Thursday, November 5, 2026, at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) premises. (Commerce House, 1 Idowu Taylor Street, Victoria Island, and 10 Dr Nurudeen Olowopopo way, Alausa Ikeja Lagos). To guarantee comprehensive and balanced deliberations, the panels comprise multidisciplinary professionals with recognised expertise spanning the legal profession, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), electrical engineering, commerce, finance and consumer rights advocacy. Furthermore, to protect the integrity, independence, and objectivity of the process, personnel currently employed by electricity distribution companies or LASERC are strictly excluded from panel membership.

She affirmed that electricity consumers deserve an impartial hearing and fair consideration of their grievances, noting that the panels demonstrate LASERC’s pledge to provide structured redress channels in which consumer concerns are substantively addressed. Mrs George added that the Commission remains dedicated to deepening public engagement, enforcing regulatory compliance, and driving service quality improvements across all operating utilities.
The launch of these resolution panels aligns with LASERC’s regulatory mandate to institutionalise transparency, market accountability, and resolve disputes using structured frameworks.
