NUPRC Announces February 27 Deadline for Registration and Applications for 2025 Licensing Round

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has declared that the period for registration and the submission of applications for the Pre-Qualification phase of the Nigeria 2025 Licensing Round will officially end at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026.

As stated by the NUPRC, this deadline adheres strictly to Section 11.2 of the Guidelines for the Licensing Round, and no extensions should be anticipated beyond this specified timeline.

The regulatory body has urged potential applicants to ensure that their submissions completely fulfill the requirements as detailed in the guidelines. This encompasses thorough documentation, compliance with both technical and financial standards, and timely uploading of all necessary materials within the designated portal prior to the deadline.

The 2025 Licensing Round forms a part of the continuous initiatives by the Commission aimed at boosting upstream investment, fostering transparency in asset distribution, and reinforcing Nigeria’s capacity for oil and gas exploration and production. Stakeholders within the industry are encouraged to capitalize on this opportunity while adhering strictly to regulatory standards.

As a result, applicants are strongly recommended to conclude all pending documentation and finalize their submissions ahead of the closing date to prevent disqualification.
