NNPC Foundation bags CSR champion Award for Health interventions
The NNPC Foundation Limited/Gte, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of NNPC Ltd., has been honoured with the CSR Champion Award (Health) 2025 by Independent Newspapers, in recognition of its impactful healthcare interventions across Nigeria.

The award was presented at the Silver Jubilee edition of the Independent Newspapers Awards, themed “Game Changers: Breaking Barriers and Shaping Tomorrow,” held at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
The CSR Champion Award (Health) acknowledges the Foundation’s sustained efforts in improving healthcare delivery, as well as its broader commitment to social investment programmes spanning health, education, environment, and access to energy.
The recognition follows a series of interventions by the Foundation, including free cataract screenings and surgeries that restored sight to over 6,000 Nigerians, among them minors born blind. Other initiatives include cancer and glaucoma treatments, medical outreaches to underserved communities, and the renovation and furnishing of three wards with 100 beds at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos.
The Foundation has also supported heart surgery programmes through strategic partnerships and sponsored dental health campaigns, providing accessories to children in special schools across the country.
According to the organisation, these achievements were made possible through the leadership and support of the NNPC Ltd. management, whose commitment has strengthened the Foundation’s capacity to deliver impactful social investments nationwide.
Reacting to the award, the Managing Director of the NNPC Foundation, Emmanuella Arukwe, described the recognition as a validation of the Foundation’s efforts and the trust reposed in it by Nigerians.
She said the honour reflects the confidence Nigerians have in the organisation’s work and the value placed on purposeful social investment.

“It speaks to the resilience of the communities we serve, the dedication of our team, and the strength of partnerships that have enabled us to do meaningful work in health, education, environmental sustainability and access to energy,” she stated.
Arukwe further emphasised that the support of NNPC Ltd.’s management has been instrumental in the Foundation’s successes, noting that the award would spur it to expand its reach and deepen its impact.
“We receive this award with gratitude, and with a renewed sense of responsibility to do more and reach further across the country,” she added.
The NNPC Foundation reiterated its commitment to advancing health interventions that improve outcomes and contribute to national development.
