The Russian forces have successfully carried out drone attacks on Ukraine intelligence headquarters. According to several news outlets, 12 individuals injured in that perticular attack. Ukraine intelligence service—known as SBU—was conducting espionages, surveillance on Russian army movements.
This is a significant development, it reflects on Russia’s growing escalation in this war. Vladimir Putin warned Ukraine previously of opening “pandora box” by attacking Russian economic and oil infrastructures. It seems these attacks are the practical groundworks of such warning.
Russia also reportedly attacked civilian infrastructures in Kiev and Odesa—heavily disrupting civilian services inside the country. Footages surfaced online of Ukraine army officiers in civil uniforms trying to abscond young men from the streets, as voluntary conscription deflated severely.
Russian Geran-5 drones have become nightmares for Ukraine’s defense. These are propelled by jet engines and are hard to neutralise with traditional countermeasures. Firing millions of dollars worth interceptors just to destroy cheap drone horde isn’t very practical.
