SPECIAL SITTING: CJN COMMENDS PRESIDENT AND JUSTICES OF THE COURT OF APPEAL

- Speaking on Thursday during a courtesy visit to the Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal, where the Justices are engaged in a week-long special sitting, the CJN expressed her deep appreciation for their efforts. “I want to thank your Lordships for your very hard work, because I know that it is not easy, I know that you have a special exercise going on here presently and I wish you God’s guidance, I wish you everything that it takes to do this job the way we need it to be done. And I always like to encourage, let us just put in our best, do your work your work will speak for you …I wish you all every success in what you are doing.”

The CJN also used the occasion to extend heartfelt appreciation to the outgoing Presiding Justice of the Lagos Division, Hon. Justice Jimi Olukayode Bada, for his meritorious service to the nation and the judiciary. She wished His Lordship well, peace,happiness and everything he prays for. The CJN also prayed that his retirement will be a long one urging him to also continue to pray for the Judiciary.

In addition, the CJN praised the leadership of the President of the Court of Appeal, stating, “I thank the President for her leadership. I am very impressed, and I pray that God continues to guide you and I want you to continue to lift the Court of Appeal. You are doing a good job, and we are proud of you. Thank you very much.”

The visit also provided an opportunity for the Justices to celebrate the birthday of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, which fell on the 7th of May.
