The restoration followed the successful completion of repairs and maintenance on the line, which was returned to service at 7:05 p.m. on July 2, 2026.

The General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mbah, who disclosed this in a statement, explained that the transmission line had been out of service since June 25, 2026, following the detachment of conductors from sections of the line.

According to Mrs. Mbah, the restoration will enable Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), Eko Electricity Distribution Plc, and Ikeja Electric to off-take more electricity for distribution to customers within their franchise areas.

She apologised for the inconvenience caused by the outage and thanked affected customers and stakeholders for their patience, understanding, and cooperation while the repairs lasted.
