As part of its advisory to the public, NNPC Limited urged individuals, corporate organizations, and industry stakeholders to disregard these claims or solicitations. It cautioned against engaging with anyone alleging to represent the company in such matters.

A statement titled ”Fraudulent Claims on Sale of Refinery Scrap and Equipment”’, issued on Friday by Andy Odeh, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Limited in Abuja, addressed circulating reports as misleading and false.
The company firmly declared that the information being shared is untrue, clarifying that it has not made any requests for bids, tenders, expressions of interest, or approvals for the sale of scrap materials, refinery components, or items from its warehouses or inventories.
NNPC Limited further dissociated itself from individuals allegedly posing as its representatives or agents and claiming to facilitate the sale of “scrap metals” or refinery equipment. It emphasized that these individuals are unauthorized and are attempting to deceive the public.
As a precaution, the company advised the public, corporate organizations, and industry stakeholders to disregard such claims or solicitations, urging them to exercise caution when dealing with anyone making such representations.
It reiterated that NNPC Limited has not engaged in or authorized any sale of scrap metals, equipment, or refinery components at any of its facilities. To eliminate any confusion, the statement highlighted that any legitimate disposal of assets by NNPC Limited would only occur through established, transparent channels.
Such processes would be publicly announced via the company’s official platforms and conducted in full compliance with relevant regulations.
Members of the public who encounter individuals or entities making these fraudulent claims were encouraged to report them to law enforcement authorities. The statement concluded by reaffirming NNPC Limited’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and the responsible stewardship of the nation’s energy assets.
