The Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) says the appointment of two Executive Directors will strengthen its leadership and accelerate its transformation agenda.
The company’s Managing Director, Mrs Jennifer Adighije, stated this in a statement issued on Monday, describing the appointments as strategic to strengthening corporate governance.
She said the appointments would enhance operational efficiency and advance NDPHC’s mandate to expand electricity generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure nationwide.
According to Adighije, the appointments underscore the Federal Government’s commitment to repositioning NDPHC for improved performance and stronger electricity supply.
She welcomed the new executive management members and thanked President Bola Tinubu for appointing professionals with the experience and competence to support NDPHC’s vision.
The newly appointed Executive Directors are Mr Patrick Obahiagbon, Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial; and Mr Chukwuma Umeoji, Executive Director, Corporate Services.
Adighije said their appointments represented another milestone in NDPHC’s transformation, strengthening strategic planning, corporate governance and commercial operations.
She added that the appointments would also enhance stakeholder engagement and overall institutional effectiveness across the company.
The managing director stressed that effective leadership, teamwork and collaboration remained essential to achieving NDPHC’s strategic priorities, particularly increasing generation capacity.
She said the company would also focus on expanding transmission capacity, strengthening distribution networks and unlocking stranded generation assets.
Adighije said the new executive directors’ experience and expertise would complement the existing management team and enhance NDPHC’s ability to deliver its mandate.
She said this would be done in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the power sector.
The managing director added that the expanded leadership team would foster innovation, improve strategic decision-making and deepen stakeholder confidence.
She said it would also accelerate the execution of critical power infrastructure projects across the country.
According to her, the appointments would position NDPHC to play a leading role in Nigeria’s power sector reforms.
She said the company remained committed to improving the reliability and resilience of electricity supply while supporting economic growth and industrial development.
