Eko Disco Appoints Wola Joseph-Condotti as Interim CEO

Wola Joseph-Condotti

Eko Disco, also known as Eko Electricity Distribution Company, has announced the appointment of Wola Joseph-Condotti as its Interim Chief Executive Officer. This marks a significant leadership transition at one of Nigeria’s most important electricity distribution companies.

The appointment comes less than two weeks after TransGrid Consortium completed the acquisition of a 60% controlling stake in Eko Disco, in a transaction valued at approximately ₦360 billion. It also follows the retirement of Rekhiat Momoh, who exits the company after nearly two years as CEO and more than three decades of service across NEPA, PHCN, and Eko Disco.

According to industry sources, Joseph-Condotti assumed office on Monday, January 12, 2026, with the appointment formally announced the following day at a staff town hall meeting by Engineer Olubunmi Peters, Chairman of TransGrid Consortium and now Chairman of Eko Disco. The swift appointment suggests a deliberate effort by the new owners to ensure leadership stability and operational continuity during the early phase of the transition.

Leadership at Eko Disco

Joseph-Condotti is a seasoned power sector executive and legal professional with deep institutional knowledge of Eko Disco and Nigeria’s electricity market. Prior to her appointment, she served as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of West Power & Gas Limited, the former core investor in Eko Disco. Earlier in her career, she spent more than a decade as Chief Legal & Company Secretary at Eko Disco, where she oversaw regulatory compliance, corporate governance, customer service strategy, human resources, and data protection. Her blend of legal, regulatory, and operational experience positions her well to manage the complex challenges facing Nigeria’s distribution companies.

Outgoing CEO Rekhiat Momoh leaves behind a strong legacy built over a 33-year career in the power sector. During her tenure at Eko Disco, she held several strategic roles, including General Manager (Commercial), Assistant General Manager (Marketing), and District Manager for key business districts such as Orile, Mushin, and Apapa. In a farewell message to staff, Momoh described her time as CEO as the greatest privilege of her professional life, thanking employees for their dedication and support.

Joseph-Condotti’s appointment signals continuity amid change as TransGrid begins to reposition Eko Disco under new ownership. It also reflects the growing trend of women occupying senior leadership roles in Nigeria’s electricity distribution sector. With fresh capital, renewed strategic focus, and an interim CEO who understands both the business and regulatory landscape, stakeholders will be watching closely for early signs of operational improvement, enhanced customer engagement, and stronger regulatory compliance.
