 EKO DisCo Apologies To Customers For Power Interruption

The Management of Eko Electricity Distribution Company has issued an apology statement to all its customers that are currently experiencing electricity interruption under its network coverage area.

According to the statement, the three-day planned outage effective 13 March 2026 was due to an equipment upgrade at Waterfront Injection substations, which involves replacing obsolete 11kV panels with news ones aimed at improving power reliability.

Eko DisCo said the upgrade was necessary to improve electricity reliability and power quality in parts of Lagos.

The installation process will necessitate a temporary shutdown of the substation from Friday, March 13, to Sunday, March 15, 2026. During this period, the electricity supply will be briefly interrupted in several communities.

EKEDC apologised to customers for the inconvenience the outage may cause and appealed for patience while the upgrade is completed. The company said the upgrade is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and stability of electricity distribution within its network.

The company said in a statement shared “Please be informed that an equipment upgrade will be carried out at the Waterfront Injection Substation involving the replacement of obsolete 11kV panels with new ones.”

The company sincerely apologise for any inconveniences the interruption in power may cause and appreciate the patience and understanding as they work to ensure restoration of power as soon as the replacement of the panels are completed.
