Venezuela Rewrites Its Oil Law to Attract Foreign Investment
Dangote refinery reaffirms ability to supply 75 million litres of petrol daily

Dangote refinery has reaffirmed its ability to supply fuel volumes well above the nation’s estimated needs, set at around 50 million litres daily.
In addition to the 75 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Dangote Petroleum Refinery can also provide 25 million litres of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), compared to an estimated daily demand of 14 million litres.
Furthermore, the facility is equipped to supply 20 million litres of aviation fuel each day, which far exceeds the maximum domestic consumption.
In a recent statement, the company emphasized that having supply volumes surpassing current demand is crucial for market stability, offering vital supply buffers and minimizing reliance on imports—especially during peak demand periods or logistical challenges.
“The management of Dangote Petroleum Refinery wants to reaffirm our capability to deliver the listed petroleum products of the highest international quality to marketers and stakeholders,” the company noted, reiterating their commitment to supplying 75 million litres of PMS, 25 million litres of AGO, and 20 million litres of aviation fuel daily.
Industry experts observe that consistently supplying beyond estimated consumption levels reduces the risk of emergency imports, enhances inventory coverage, and fortifies the resilience of the domestic supply chain.
Additionally, the refinery emphasized its dedication to full regulatory compliance and ongoing collaboration with the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
The refinery’s strategic supply approach aligns with efforts to maintain market stability and facilitate orderly downstream operations. Remaining actively engaged with regulators and industry stakeholders, the refinery supports Nigeria’s national energy security goals while aiding the transition from fuel import dependence to domestic refining.
By working closely with market participants, Dangote ensures that the advantages of local refining—reliable supply, competitive pricing, and improved market discipline are consistently provided to consumers across the nation.
As domestic refining capabilities grow, there is a strong belief that Nigeria can effectively lessen its foreign exchange exposure, enhance supply security, and improve downstream efficiency through locally refined petroleum products
