President Tinubu commissions Tantita-sponsored projects at historic Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commissioned a set of modern facilities on Friday at the historic Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna. These infrastructure enhancements were undertaken by Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited(TSSNL).

The new developments include a cutting-edge ablution center capable of accommodating up to 300 worshippers simultaneously, 50 restrooms featuring VIP sections, and a 300,000-litre overhead water tank designed to serve both the mosque and the surrounding Ungwan Sarki community.

During the event, President Tinubu, who was in Kaduna for the wedding of Senator Abdul’aziz Yari’s son, praised the project as an exemplary model of unity and corporate responsibility that bridges regional and religious divides.

Previously, the mosque struggled with an overburdened ablution facility, particularly during Juma’at prayers, when attendance often exceeds capacity.

Abba Mubashir, the site engineer, highlighted the high standards maintained throughout the construction process. He emphasized the ample space of the ablution area and guaranteed a consistent water supply for both the mosque and neighboring areas thanks to the substantial overhead tank.

Additionally, it was revealed that Tantita extended its corporate social responsibility initiatives by constructing an Islamic school in Ambushia and a Christian school in Sabo, highlighting its inclusive approach to community development.

The Chief Ladan of Sultan Bello Mosque, Malam Abdurrahman Abdulhamid, expressed gratitude to the company for reviving the long-abandoned project. “This project was first started by Mr. Jack Rich but abandoned for over three years. Tantita came in and completed it. We now have 50 toilets, including VIPs, and a reliable water source for worshippers and the community,” he said.

Residents of Ungwan Sarki community welcomed the development, saying it has eased the burden of water scarcity in the area.

As part of Tinubu’s one-day visit to Kaduna, the commissioning underscored the growing involvement of private sector players in addressing infrastructure deficits across Nigeria.
