NIMASA, NUPRC Collaborate to Remove Operational Hurdles, Boost Investor Confidence

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) have reinforced their dedication to enhancing Nigeria’s investment landscape through improved inter-agency collaboration.

This commitment was the central focus of discussions during a working visit by Dr. Dayo Mobereola, Director-General of NIMASA, to the NUPRC’s corporate headquarters in Abuja, where he met with the Commission Chief Executive, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, and her management team.

Osagie Edward, Deputy Director and Head of Public Relations at NIMASA, highlighted that the meeting concentrated on fostering the ease of doing business in Nigeria while maximizing economic gains for the Federal Government.

He noted that the two agencies stressed the importance of coordinated regulatory measures to address operational challenges, enhance investor confidence, and ensure effective revenue generation in Nigeria’s pivotal maritime and oil and gas sectors.

NIMASA’s focus on promoting indigenous participation in international shipping trade and ensuring marine pollution control was identified as closely aligned with NUPRC’s responsibilities, which revolve around ensuring regulatory compliance in upstream activities, encouraging investments, and upholding environmental and safety standards.
