TechnipFMC Secures Significant Subsea Systems Contract From Petrobras

September 24, 2025
TechnipFMC has won a significant contract from Petrobras to supply subsea production systems, following a competitive bidding round.

The award, valued between $75 million and $250 million, covers the design, engineering, and manufacturing of subsea equipment for Petrobras’ offshore portfolio.
The systems will support both new greenfield projects and brownfield expansions, while also contributing to asset revitalization efforts.
The contract scope further includes installation support, life-of-field services, and options for additional equipment and services. Importantly, all subsea systems will be manufactured and maintained in Brazil, reinforcing local content commitments.
Jonathan Landes, President of Subsea at TechnipFMC, highlighted the company’s long-standing partnership with Petrobras: “Leveraging our industrialised operating model, we can standardise innovative solutions and deliver the schedule certainty that Petrobras expects on its projects.
We look forward to creating new value together as we build on our decades-long relationship as a trusted local partner.”

This new award follows other recent successes for TechnipFMC. In July, the company secured a contract from Equinor for the Heidrun extension project in the Norwegian North Sea. Located 175 kilometers off mid-Norway at a depth of 350 meters, Heidrun is notable for having the world’s largest floating concrete tension-leg platform. That same month, TechnipFMC also entered a collaboration with Vår Energi to deliver subsea projects in the North Sea under an integrated commercial model.
Petrobras itself has been active in expanding its international portfolio. Earlier this month, the Brazilian state-controlled company acquired a 27.5% interest in Block 4 offshore São Tomé and Príncipe, joining a consortium with Shell (operator, 30%), Galp (27.5%), and ANP-STP (15%).

With its latest contract win, TechnipFMC continues to strengthen its position as a key subsea partner to Petrobras, while also expanding its global project pipeline across Europe and Africa.
