Explosion Rocks EEDC Substation, Disrupts Power Supply

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has announced that the loss of supply currently being experienced in some parts of Ebonyi state is a result of an explosion that occurred at its Mile 50 Injection Substation.
In a statement signed by Emeka Ezeh, Head of Corporate Communications of EEDC, the explosion disrupted supply to its customers at Udemezue, Azuiyiokwu 1, Township, and Industrial 11KV feeders.
“As a result of this development, our customers at Old Government House, New Layout, Kpririkpiri, Mile 50 Layout, Azugwu, Mbukobe, Ezza Road, Aguogboriga, Amike Abba, Nkaliki and environs have been out of supply,” the statement read.
According to the Company, engineers are working to resolve the issue and restore supply to the affected areas.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconveniences this must have caused our esteemed customers and assure you of our continued commitment to providing improved services,” the company said.
