Amidst national grid limitations, patrons of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) find themselves grappling with slashed power hours.
In a statement obtained by EnergyPlanets, BEDC management sheds light on the plight faced by franchise states – Delta, Edo, Ekiti, and Ondo, citing uncontrollable constraints.
“The inconvenience is regretted and we sincerely apologise for any disruption to your daily routines. Please be assured that we are working diligently with all stakeholders to improve the situation and resume regular supply as soon as possible,” the statement read.
Adding to the tumult, BEDC faces flak for delayed maintenance at critical substations in Sapele and Ihovbor. Blaming technical hurdles, the company reassures patrons of progress, vowing to expedite the restoration process to full capacity.
“This delay is due to prevailing technical factors,” the company said. “However, we want to assure you that work on both substations is progressing well. We anticipate completing the maintenance process and restoring full capacity soon.”
